Presanthi Naidoo is an educator in the commerce department at an all boys institute and communication researcher based in Durban North, South Africa. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Management Sciences, Department of Public Relations Management at the Durban University of Technology. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Relations Management and Communication Science, a PGCE in Business Studies and English First Additional Language, and a BTech Honours degree in Public Relations Management. Her professional expertise spans curriculum leadership, assessment design and moderation, examination management, and educator mentoring across both CAPS and Cambridge curricula. She has previously lectured on a part time bases, Public Relations at the Durban University of Technology and has presented research at academic conferences and featured on academic podcasts. Her research interests focus on digital communication in public healthcare, particularly the role of public relations practitioners in shaping health messaging, stakeholder engagement, and the use of digital platforms in resource-constrained public institutions.
Paulene Naidoo is a Senior Academic at the Durban University of Technology within the Department of Public Relations and Communication. She holds a PhD in Communication Science and has been an academic for over 20 years. As a strong advocate of applied learning, she aims to involve her students in a variety of project-based activities that creates a platform for developing real world experiences. She has published in accredited journals and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experiences with both her undergraduate and postgraduate students. Her current research interest includes Intercultural Communication, Entrepreneurship, Communication and Social Media.
Nereshnee Govender is an Associate Pofessor and Writing Centre Practitioner at the Durban University of Technology (DUT). She has served in this role since the inception of the DUT Writing Centre in 2013. She holds qualifications in the Social Sciences and Humanities sector as well as Higher Education Studies. Her research interests include learning and teaching in higher education, decolonising pedagogies, social responsibility in higher education, academic literacies, writing centre pedagogy, student and staff development in higher education and media and communication. She is well published and has presented at many national and international conferences with a focus on teaching, learning and research in the South African higher education environment.
