Dr Timothy Marango is a teacher, researcher, consultant and manager, currently serving as Research Prioritisation, Control and Coordination Manager at the Research Council of Zimbabwe. He has over 20 years of experience in rural development programming, teaching and research across SADC countries. His research interests include rural and urban development, human development, environment and climate change, agriculture, indigenous knowledge systems, social capital, social protection, gender and governance. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed academic journals and contributes to national research programming, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, and the identification of demand-driven research priorities. Prof. Joseph Francis is Professor and Director of the Institute for Rural Development at the University of Venda, South Africa, with over 25 years of distinguished academic, research and leadership experience. He is an accomplished interdisciplinary scholar whose expertise encompasses Rural Sociology, Rural and Development Studies, governance, public participation, community development, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, livelihoods, social capital, gender, youth, environmental sustainability and social transformation. His scholarly record includes extensive peer-reviewed publications, postgraduate supervision, research leadership and community-engaged scholarship. Prof Francis brings substantial methodological expertise in qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods and participatory research, positioning him strongly as an external examiner of doctoral research in Sociology and related disciplines.
Leonard Chitongo (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer in Human Geography in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Walter Sisulu University, South Africa. His research focuses on human and social development, socio-economic transformation, rural and urban resilience, livelihoods, housing, and public policy. His work examines how communities, households and institutions respond to socio-economic, environmental and spatial challenges, particularly within the Global South. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and contributes to research, teaching and postgraduate supervision in human geography and related fields.
